Worship Service for October 25, 2020

WELCOME

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Today is the day we have reverted to our normal worship time of 10:30 am.

Next Friday is our next free Community Meal. We will be serving the boxed food to folks as they drive up in their cars. In addition, we have put out the word that anyone living in Chippewa Lake or Gloria Glens who have no transportation can call the church by Saturday to request delivery. If you would like to volunteer to help out by either serving the folks who come to the church or delivering it to those who cannot, please let me know.

I will remain after worship until 12 noon for those of you who wish to drop off your offering. You may place it in the box that is located in the lobby. If you prefer to send your offering in the mail, the address is:

Worship Service for October 18, 2020

WELCOME

Good morning. Welcome to CrossPointe Community Church’s online video presentation. I have been told that there are over a 1,000 people a month accessing these videos. I had no idea that many people were looking on.

A little bird told me an old friend of mine, Betty Akers, from Litchfield, Ohio recently began to tune in. Betty, welcome aboard. Long time, no see. Still can’t see you, but I am hopeful that when all of this pandemic stuff is over, we can remedy that. It would be great to see you again.

Our church leaders met last Sunday and made a decision to revert to our normal worship time of 10:30am beginning Sunday, October 25th.

Come, let us sing to the Lord!
Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation.
Let us come to Him with thanksgiving.
Let us sing psalms of praise to Him.
For the Lord is a great God,

Before I read today’s Call to Worship and we sing, let me clue you to what both are about by telling a story; a story about someone going to heaven. In fact, I am going to begin and end with a story about going to heaven.

After a long illness, a woman died and arrived at the Gates of Heaven. While she was waiting for Saint Peter to greet her, she peeked through the Gates. She saw a beautiful banquet table. Sitting all around were her parents and all the other people she had loved and who had died before her. They saw her and began calling greetings to her; “Hello, How are you! We’ve been waiting for you! Good to see you.”

When Saint Peter came by, the woman said to him, “This is such a wonderful place! How do I get in?”
“You have to spell just one word,” Saint Peter told her.
“Which word?” the woman asked.
“Grace.”
“The woman correctly spelled ‘G. r. a. c. e.’ and she was welcomed into Heaven.

Worship Service for October 4, 2020

WELCOME

Good morning. Welcome to CrossPointe Community Church’s online video presentation. I thank my wife, Gail, for being behind the camera as we speak and Lindsay Brandenburg for receiving and posting these files to YouTube so that you can participate.

Our leaders met last Sunday and decided that until further notice we would continue to meet at 9:30 am. And we invited you to make your voice heard in this regard. Please e-mail me and let me know what you would prefer; 9:30 am or 10:30 am.

Today, we will be celebrating the Sacrament of Holy Communion. So, I invite you to stop and make sure you have on hand your communion elements.

CALL TO WORSHIP

Let the whole earth sing to the Lord!
Each day proclaim the good news that He saves.
Publish His glorious deeds among the nations.
Tell everyone about the amazing things He does.
Great is the Lord! He is most worthy of praise!
He is to be feared above all gods.
The gods of other nations are mere idols,
but the Lord made the heavens!
Honor and majesty surround Him;
strength and joy fill His dwelling.
O nations of the world, recognize the Lord,
recognize that the Lord is glorious and strong.
Give to the Lord the glory He deserves!
Bring your offering and come into His presence.
