  • How to Celebrate Christmas All Year Long

Worship Service for December 27, 2020

    WELCOME

Good morning and welcome to CrossPointe Community Church’s last Sunday of 2020 (yah!) online video presentation. I thank God for all of you and for the opportunity to spend these moments with you. If you’d like to reach out to me, I’d love to hear from you. You can e-mail me at randykmeyer@hotmail.com.

    ANNOUNCEMENTS

Gail and I are recording this service on Monday, December 22nd, the day after recording the Christmas Eve service. If you tuned into that service last Thursday you heard that thus far we had received over $ 9,000 towards our special Christmas Offering! And I have a hunch that not all of those gifts had come in as of last Monday. When we get a final figure this coming week, I will pass along the wonderful news!

Once again, these contributions will enable CrossPointe to remain current with our financial obligations. And I thank You for your response to the challenge. I thank God for stirring your hearts to give. And I thank God for each of you. In the midst of a somewhat muted by CoVid Christmas season, you have given all of us at CrossPointe a reason to rejoice in that that the Giver of every good and perfect gift is alive and well in our midst. And is not that the Christmas Message: “The virgin will give birth to a Son, and they shall call his name Immanuel, which means, God with us!’” (Isaiah 7:14).

    CALL TO WORSHIP

At that time the Roman emperor, Augustus, decreed that a census should be taken throughout the Roman Empire. All returned to their own ancestral towns to register for this census. And because Joseph was a descendant of King David, he had to go to Bethlehem in Judea, David’s ancient home. He traveled there from the village of Nazareth in Galilee. He took with him Mary, to whom he was engaged, who was now expecting a child. And while they were there, the time came for her baby to be born. She gave birth to her firstborn son. She wrapped Him snugly in strips of cloth and laid him in a manger, because there was no lodging available for them.

Worship Service for December 24, 2020

    WELCOME

Good day/evening and welcome to CrossPointe Community Church’s online video Christmas Eve presentation. I thank God for all of you and for the opportunity to spend these moments with you. If you’d like to reach out to me, I’d love to hear from you. You can e-mail me at randykmeyer@hotmail.com.

    ANNOUNCEMENTS

As for announcements, I just want to express my appreciation and gratitude to you, the CrossPointe family. When we offered the opportunity to fill Thanksgiving boxes with food, you responded generously. When the call went out to help folks with our Christmas Adopt-a-Family you were there. Last Friday, we were blessed to be able to serve 53 dinners at our monthly Community Meal. I thank God for the blessing of being a Community Church. And I thank God for your participation in this, our purpose, to Share God’s Grace with Our Community.

Then we asked God for a Christmas miracle for an in-house finance need, and God granted our request, working, as He always does, through people like you. If you are not sitting down, you may want to. We have thus far received $15,200 for our special Christmas Offering. And if you are sitting, now you can jump with joy! These contributions will enable CrossPointe to remain current with our financial obligations. And I thank You for your response to the challenge. I thank God for stirring your hearts to give. And I thank God for each of you. In the midst of a somewhat muted by COVID Christmas, you have given all of us at CrossPointe a reason to rejoice in that the Giver of every good and perfect gift is alive and well in our midst. And isn’t that the Christmas Message?

The virgin will give birth to a Son, and they shall call his name Immanuel, which means, God with us!

Because one family we contacted declined, we are only adopting three rather than four families for Christmas. You were e-mailed concerning the particulars and Suz Lemmon has made me aware that you folks are already responding to the need. We will have until December 20th to bring these items to the church for distribution. I will be at the church from 10:00 to noon on Sundays and from noon to 3:00 pm on Wednesdays for you to drop items off. Thank you for your generosity.

Please note that this month’s Community Meal will take place this coming Friday, December 18th. As always we are looking for volunteers to help in carrying the food from the kitchen to the cars.

    WELCOME

Good morning. Welcome to CrossPointe Community Church’s online video presentation. It is good to be seen again. I thank you, my friends, for your understanding and support of me taking some time away from my worship leading responsibilities. As a result, I was able to get some rest and accomplish some personal business that has been simmering on my back burner for far too long.

I thank God for all of you and for the opportunity to spend these moments with you. If you’d like to reach out to me, I’d love to hear from you. You can e-mail me at randykmeyer@hotmail.com.

I want to thank you again for your generosity in filling 15 Thanksgiving Boxes. We can only imagine how grateful those folks were as they sat down to enjoy what you all provided.

We will be adopting four families for Christmas. At the present time, we know there are 11 children that range in age from three to 17. We will e-mail you as soon as we have specifics on clothing sizes, etc. We will have until December 20th to bring these items to the church for distribution.

Please note that this month’s Community Meal will take place a week early. That would be December 18th.
