  • He’s Coming

    Worship Service for November 28th

    WELCOME

Good morning and welcome to CrossPointe Community Church’s online worship. If you are visiting or new to the congregation, my name is Jim. I am filling in for Pastor Randy this week. I am so thankful for the opportunity to share this time with you.

This is an exciting day for all believers in the Lord Jesus. This is the first Sunday of Advent. Which means we have now, “officially” entered the Christmas season. This Sunday is traditionally celebrated as the Sunday of Hope… There are four candles for the four weeks of Advent, symbolizing hope, love, joy and peace. And finally the center candle is lit for Christmas.

    ANNOUNCEMENTS

Watch for more details about our Christmas Adopt-a-Family coming soon.

    CALL TO WORSHIP

    A psalm of David.
O Lord, I give my life to you.
I trust in you, my God!
Do not let me be disgraced,
or let my enemies rejoice in my defeat.
No one who trusts in you will ever be disgraced,
but disgrace comes to those who try to deceive others.
    Show me the right path, O Lord;
point out the road for me to follow.
Lead me by your truth and teach me,
for you are the God who saves me.
All day long I put my hope in you.
Remember, O Lord, your compassion and unfailing love,
which you have shown from long ages past.
Do not remember the rebellious sins of my youth.
Remember me in the light of your unfailing love,
for you are merciful, O Lord.

    Psalm 25:1-7

He is standing up straight again with little pain.

    CALL TO WORSHIP

It is good to give thanks to the Lord, to sing praises to the Most High.
It is good to proclaim Your unfailing love in the morning,
Your faithfulness in the evening, accompanied by a ten-stringed instrument, a harp, and the melody of a lyre.
You thrill me, Lord, with all You have done for me!
I sing for joy because of what You have done.

If you placed someone on our weekly prayer list and their status has changed, please e-mail Gail or I and give us an update.

    CALL TO WORSHIP

Though He was God, He did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. Instead, He gave up His divine privileges, He took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being. When He appeared in human form, He humbled Himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross.

Therefore, God elevated Him to the place of highest honor and gave Him the name above all other names, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Thanks again for your faithfulness in those Gather to Scatter projects that we completed last Sunday. You guys go above and beyond the call!

For those of you who would like to know more about CrossPointe, I invite you to attend the first of two Membership Classes next Sunday after worship.

Today, we have the high privilege of celebrating the Sacrament of Holy Communion. I trust you all received your communion elements. Anyone who wishes to confirm or renew their faith in the death of Christ as the means of being right with God are welcome to receive the sacrament.

By the way, a mother tells the story about her and her husband sharing communion at their church. In their church, their son Seth, who was only 5, was not eligible to receive the sacrament but was curious about it nonetheless. His mother noticed he watched intently as she received the sacrament. Then she bowed her head to pray. A few seconds later, she looked up and saw that he was by then intently watching his dad at prayer after taking communion. She was delighted that Seth was observing the solemnity of the occasion. “Good parental example,” she thought to herself. But her gratification was short-lived as Seth leaned toward her and whispered: “What’s in that stuff anyway? You guys eat it and go right to sleep.” 1

    CALL TO WORSHIP

It was in the year King Uzziah died that I saw the Lord. He was sitting on a lofty throne, and the train of his robe filled the Temple. Attending Him were mighty seraphim, each having six wings. With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they flew. They were calling out to each other, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of Heaven’s Armies! The whole earth is filled with his glory!”

Their voices shook the Temple to its foundations, and the entire building was filled with smoke. Then I said, “It’s all over! I am doomed, for I am a sinful man. I have filthy lips, and I live among a people with filthy lips. Yet I have seen the King, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.”

Then one of the seraphim flew to me with a burning coal he had taken from the altar with a pair of tongs. He touched my lips with it and said, “See, this coal has touched your lips. Now your guilt is removed, and your sins are forgiven.”

  • It’s Not Your Battle

Worship Service for October 23, 2021

    WELCOME

Good day, welcome, and thanks for joining CrossPointe Community Church’s online Word worship presentation. My name is Jim for those of you who may be new.

I thank God for all of you and for the opportunity to spend the next few hours with you. Since Randy left me in charge, I thought a good 3 hour service digging into the Old Testament would be an awesome way to spend our Sunday together. Just kidding. So let’s get started with some announcements.

    ANNOUNCEMENTS

I have a few announcements to make. First, I want to let all of you know that this Friday is the Community Meal. Anyone who would like to help out with distribution and clean-up, please contact Sandy Barnes. It’s always a blessing to lend a hand. Sandy has the details.

Secondly, can you divert your attention to the lovely Annie Dean. She has details to share with you about the Gather to Scatter Sunday.

    CALL TO WORSHIP

This chapter starts with the Lord telling Moses his plan to give the people of Israel the land on the other side of the Red Sea. But first, before they cross over, the Egyptians are going to pursue them. The people cry out to the Lord and ask Moses, why would you take us away from Egypt? Just so that we could die in the wilderness?

And here is verse 13 and 14…

And Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever. The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.”

But now, O Jacob, listen to the Lord who created you.
O Israel, the one who formed you says,
“Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you.
I have called you by name; you are Mine.
When you go through deep waters, I will be with you.
When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown.

  • The Tough Forgive

Worship Service for October 3, 2021

    WELCOME

Good day, welcome, and thanks for joining CrossPointe Community Church’s online Word worship presentation. Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. May They bless you this day as a result of your choosing to worship them.

    ANNOUNCEMENTS

Randy will return from a few days in Florida this Wednesday and will be teaching Disciple Bible Study Thursday evening.

Today, we are highly privileged as we will be celebrating the sacrament of Holy Communion. Anyone here whose desire is to live in faith and harmony with the Lord Jesus Christ is welcome to receive the sacrament.

    CALL TO WORSHIP

All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ. Even before He made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in His eyes. God decided in advance to adopt us into His own family by bringing us to Himself through Jesus Christ. This is what He wanted to do, and it gave Him great pleasure. So we praise God for the glorious grace He has poured out on us who belong to His dear Son. He is so rich in kindness and grace that He purchased our freedom with the blood of His Son and forgave our sins.

  • Forgive; How?

Worship Service for September 26, 2021

    WELCOME

Good day, welcome and thanks for joining CrossPointe Community Church’s online Word worship presentation. Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. May They bless you this day as a result of your choosing to worship them.

I want to to thank John and Amy Topola for their continued faithfulness in shopping for and preparing the delicious food for our monthly Community Meal. And thanks to the elves that come and help them hand the meals to those who drive up.

Gail and I will be flying to Florida tomorrow, I will return a week from Wednesday and she will stay another 10 days or so before coming back to Ohio. I will; however, be appearing next Sunday via the magic of television. That is, I will be video recording the message and Lindsay Brandenburg will access it on YouTube.

Before today’s call to worship, did you hear about the pastor who was preparing pancakes for his young sons when the boys began arguing over who would get the first pancake. Their mother saw the opportunity for a moral lesson. “You know boys, we are to try our best to be like Jesus. If He and His disciples were sharing our table right now, do you know what He would say?”
The boys said, “No, but I bet you’re going to tell us.”
She said, “He would say, ‘Let my brother have the first pancake.’”
The younger boy quickly said to his older brother, “You be like Jesus!”

    CALL TO WORSHIP

This letter is from Simon Peter, a slave and apostle of Jesus Christ. I am writing to you who share the same precious faith we have. This faith was given to you because of the justice and fairness of Jesus Christ, our God and Savior.

May God give you more and more grace and peace as you grow in your knowledge of God and Jesus our Lord. By His divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know Him, the one who called us to Himself by means of His marvelous glory and excellence.
