If you haven’t already, please review the special announcement from CrossPointe leadership. In order to allow Randy some well-deserved time off, we will read/listen to some classic sermons selected by Pastor Randy. This week’s message can be enjoyed here: https://staging.crosspointe.cc/not-as-they-should-be/
What else can you do to stay connected to the CrossPointe family? You could participate in the video worship by making a video and sending it to webmaster@crosspointe.cc by Saturday at 10 am. You might want to offer a prayer for CrossPointe, or read a favorite scripture or just say “Hello” to your CrossPointe friends. It would be great just seeing you!

Today is National Cappuccino Day.
Trivia Question: what is the derivation of the word, Cappuccino? It derives from Capuchin friars, an order of Catholic Friars associated with the Franciscans. Cappuccino got its name from the color of the hooded robes that these Friars wore.
What did the cappuccino have to do when it got home from school? Foamwork.
After waiting fifteen minutes for my cappuccino I got the wrong order. Still, it’s better latté than never!
CALL TO WORSHIP
The heavens proclaim the glory of God. The skies display His craftsmanship. Day after day they continue to speak; night after night they make Him known. They speak without a sound or word; their voice is never heard. Yet their message has gone throughout the earth, and their words to all the world.

Today, we have the high honor and privilege of sharing in the Sacrament of Holy Communion. If you haven’t already, I encourage you to make sure your communion elements are nearby.
A big shout-out to Alan and Vanna Robbins, Jim and Gale Arthur, Shirley Ware and Phil Strauss who helped serve our Community Meal this past Friday. Thanks to all of you and, of course, John and Amy Topola for cooking up the delicious Harvest Chicken dinner.
How about a shout-out to the L. A. Dodgers who beat the Tampa Bay Rays Tuesday night to win the 2020 the World Series.
In honor of their win and to honor baseball in general, I have two baseball stories in my message today and these little ditties for you to cogitate on right now:
Which baseball legend loved fireplaces? Mickey Mantle.
Which baseball player makes flapjacks? The batter!
What do you call a winged insect that hits home runs? A fly swatter.
Bob didn’t believe that Fred’s dog could talk. So Fred asked his dog, “What’s on top of a house?” “Roof,” the dog barked. Bob wasn’t convinced. So Fred asked the dog how sandpaper feels. “Rough.” Bob still wasn’t convinced. “O.K., who was the greatest baseball player of all time?” Fred asked the dog. “Ruth.” With that, Bob walked away, shaking his head in disbelief. The dog turned to Fred and asked: “Was it Hank Aaron?”
Lastly, did you know baseball is the first sport in the Bible? Yep, in Genesis it says, “In the big inning!”

CALL TO WORSHIP
Come, let us sing to the Lord! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come to Him with thanksgiving. Let us sing psalms of praise to Him. For the Lord is a great God, a great King above all gods. He holds in His hands the depths of the earth and the mightiest mountains. The sea belongs to Him, for He made it. His hands formed the dry land, too. Come, let us worship and bow down. Let us kneel before the Lord our maker, For He is our God. We are the people He watches over, the flock under His care.

Before I read today’s Call to Worship and we sing, let me clue you to what both are about by telling a story; a story about someone going to heaven. In fact, I am going to begin and end with a story about going to heaven.
After a long illness, a woman died and arrived at the Gates of Heaven. While she was waiting for Saint Peter to greet her, she peeked through the Gates. She saw a beautiful banquet table. Sitting all around were her parents and all the other people she had loved and who had died before her. They saw her and began calling greetings to her; “Hello, How are you! We’ve been waiting for you! Good to see you.”
When Saint Peter came by, the woman said to him, “This is such a wonderful place! How do I get in?” “You have to spell just one word,” Saint Peter told her. “Which word?” the woman asked. “Grace.” “The woman correctly spelled ‘G. r. a. c. e.’ and she was welcomed into Heaven.

Let the whole earth sing to the Lord! Each day proclaim the good news that He saves. Publish His glorious deeds among the nations. Tell everyone about the amazing things He does. Great is the Lord! He is most worthy of praise! He is to be feared above all gods. The gods of other nations are mere idols, but the Lord made the heavens! Honor and majesty surround Him; strength and joy fill His dwelling. O nations of the world, recognize the Lord, recognize that the Lord is glorious and strong. Give to the Lord the glory He deserves! Bring your offering and come into His presence. Worship the Lord in all His Holy splendor.

An atheist was spending a quiet day fishing when suddenly his boat was attacked by the Loch Ness monster. In one easy flip, the beast tossed him and his boat high into the air. Then it opened its mouth to swallow both. As the man sailed head over heels, he cried out, “Oh, my God! Help me!” At once, the ferocious attack scene froze in place, and as the atheist hung in mid-air, a booming voice came down from the clouds, “I thought you didn’t believe in Me!” “Oh, come on God, give me a break!” the man pleaded, “two minutes ago I didn’t believe in the Loch Ness monster either!”
